The Garden City
Station, located on the Hempstead branch of the LIRR.
The
present Garden City station was built in 1898, just west of the demolished
Garden City
Stewart
Line depot. With carriage canopy and intricate brickwork. Originally had “eyebrow”
windows,
which were gone by 1918. Photograph taken in 1918.
