Visit with our feathered friends as we tour the farm and learn about farm
traditions that continue today. Scouts explore and participate in the work and
play involved in the graden, barnyard and kitchen.
Scouts will explore through hands-on activities the many ways people around
the world create threads for making fabrics. Activities include carding wool, using
a spinning wheel, weaving with a simple hand loom, and a discussion of folk tales
around the world that feature spinning such as Rumpelstiltskin and Sleeping Beauty.
It is time for tea at the Smithtown Historical Society. Come and spend the
afternoon and learn about the manners of a proper lady. Girls will play dress up
and learn about the language of the fan while they decorate their own.
