Welcome to the Class 1-313 home page!
Dear Parents,
Your child’s success begins with you! Besides homework, there are a lot of activities that can further help your child succeed in school.
- Review sounds and sight words in your child’s notebook.
- Read with them at least 15 min every day. It can be in your native language. They can also read to you, or younger siblings, cousin or even a pet!
- After you read, ask some comprehension questions like. Who was in the story, where was the story. What happened first, next, last? What was your favorite part and why?
- Give them some magnetic letters, let them play with them on the refrigerator, washer/dryer etc.
- Point out signs and interesting things, as you are walking places.
- Play I spy, and have your child tell you things they see.
- Have them count things around the house, while you are outside, money, etc.
- Give them little math problems to keep their mind busy. 8-7, 4+4, etc.
- Keep a journal. Any trip, even to the grocery store, can be an opportunity for your child to practice writing!
