Introduction: Mr. Donald Trump, a wealthy businessman in the Research Triangle Area, has offered our class an all-expense paid field trip to one of the 50 states, IF you can convince him that the state you want to visit is the best place and give him reasons why you think it is the best. You and your group must pick one of the eight regions of our nation (including the Northeast Region, Southeast Region, Midwest Region, Southwest Region, Rocky Mountain Region, Pacific Coast Region, Alaskan Region, or the Hawaiian Region) and then select a state from that region. An excellent recommendation must show that you are familiar with the state and each state's recreation & leisure activities, historical sites, economic & industry sites, and landforms & climate. He also expects a suggestion for one possible visit to a historical site, an industrial site, a landform site, AND a recreational or arts activity.

The Task You and your group will recommend your state with the following products: A final presentation to Mr. Trump; this presentation can be as creative as you would like, for example: " A brochure (using the computer or handwritten) " A PowerPoint presentation " Anything you can imagine that presents all your information The presentation should include basic information about your state and information from each topic area (Historical, Economic, Landform, and Leisure). The presentation must include your suggestion for a visit to each one of the Historical, Economic, Landform, and Leisure places that best represents your state. Become an Expert on your State Now each person in your group must pick a role in which to research your state. (If you only have three people, one of you must be an expert in two topics.) Pick your role of expertise: Recreation & Leisure Expert Landform & Climate Expert Historical Expert Economic & Industry Expert.
