Amanuensis
2009The words in this book are printed in reverse and can only be read in the mirror. They also lose letters as the text repeats over 5 booklets.Amanuensis uses the reflection and reduction of the written word, along with the expressiveness of its materials: gold gilded mirror, paper, and silk on glass – to describe the loss of one's identity. Here, the signature is considered the written mark of identity and, like our name, defines who we are. An amanuensis is a copyist.
