Policies

Library Cards

Students, faculty, staff may check out materials from the library using their Conncordia College I.D. card.

Alumni and friends of Concordia will be isssued a card on request.

Borrowers are responsible for the materials checked out on their card. Please report a lost or stolen I.D. card to a librarian as soon as possible. The library barcode on the card will be deactivated to help prevent possible misuse.

Borrowing Library Materials

Generally, library materials may be borrowed for 3 weeks with the option to renew one time if no one has requested them. As some exceptions do apply, please note the loan period for each type of material and patron class.

Library Fines and Charges

One and Three Week Items: A fine of 25 cents will be assessed for each day library materials are late. The fine will only apply to the days the library is open. After 40 overdue days the item will be presumed lost. The borrower's acccount will then be charged a minumum of $25 replacement fee and a processing fee of $10. A block denying library services will also be placed on the borrower's account until the matter is resolved. If the item is returned, the replacement cost will be credited to the borrower's account, but the $10.00 processing fee will reamin. Overdue notices will be sent to your college email account (alumni and friends please supply us with a current email or home address).

Overnight Items: Late reserve and reference items that are checked out overnight will be assessed a fine of $1.00 for each hour they are overdue. After 3 overdue days the item will be presumed lost. A block will then be placed on the borrower's library account. The borrower's library account will charged a minumum of $50 replacement fee and a processing fee of $30. If the item is returned, the replacement cost will be credited to the borrower's account, but the $30 processing fee will remain. Overdue notices will be sent to your email account.
