The New Face of Asian Pacific America: Numbers, Diversity and Change in the 21st Century is the most comprehensive, up-to-date analysis of demographic and cultural changes of Asian Pacific America and includes the latest census information. Through informative essays and over 100 photos, charts, and graphics, this book provides the first analysis of census socioeconomic data on the Asian Pacific American population and the first demographic analysis of the fast-growing mixed race/ethnicity population in the Asian-American community. The book is written by leading Asian-American scholars and journalists from across the nation.
The co-editors of the book are Eric Lai of Asianweek and Dennis Arguelles of the UCLA Asian American Studies Center. It is co-published by AsianWeek newspaper of San Francisco and UCLA's Asian American Studies Center, with partner organizations, the Organization for Chinese Americans and the National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development. The project received a major grant from State Farm Insurance Company.
It is also a publication of the newly-established Asian Pacific American Community Development Data Center, a collaborative census information project of the UCLA Asian American Studies Center and the National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development.
